WolfeReiter provides an open, integrated solution for protecting databases and intranets, based on the open-source ClamAV virus scanning engine.

With the increasing popularity of Internet-connected business collaboration intranets, knowledge management portals, and content management systems, lurks the potential for a new reservoir of virus in your organization – the document database.

Typically, enterprises protect themselves carefully from email-bourne viruses only to allow Internet users to post unchecked documents into a recruitment database, collaboration portal, or KM system.  WolfeReiter has developed a free and open source integration library, WRAVlib, as a foundation for integrating antivirus scanning into these types of applications.

WRAVLib ships with support for the ClamAV virus scan daemon, but is extensible for use with other virus scan engines. Our special expertise working with ClamAV on the Windows platform (via Interix), enables us to provide cost-effective, high-performance solutions that patrol the document database and quarantine hazardous content.

We actively contribute to the ClamAV project by porting code to run in the Windows Services for UNIX Interix subsystem and providing compiled builds of ClamAV for Interix.
